Tallow Balm, Lotion, and Deodorant
Tallow is an excellent natural and nontoxic skin care product, with mostly organic ingredients, that supplies minerals and nutrients for your skin. It is derived from the carefully rendered fat of grass fed cows, raised without hormones or antibiotics. Tallow resembles the natural moisture in human skin, and helps treat many conditions, such as burning, cracked, dry, and itching skin. It is gentle enough and safe to be used anywhere on the body for long-lasting impact.
Tallow moisturizers consist of vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as conjugated linoleic (Omega 6) and Palmitoleic (antimicrobial) acids. When you apply a tallow moisturizer to your skin, its powerful antibacterial elements, vitamins, and fats are released. The natural nutrients and minerals found in tallow help to hydrate, heal, and nourish the skin.
Tallow products keeps incredibly well and can stay fresh for years if refrigerated. When kept at room temperature, the tallow will develop a strong odor after approximately six months, but it is still fine to use. Please note that the tallow balm can be become grainy when it is exposed to warm temperatures and subsequently cooled. You can melt the tallow in the oven at 120 to 150°F (49 to 56°C), or on a heating pad, then cool in the fridge to let it begin to solidify, and whip before it becomes solid to restore the smooth creamy texture. Alternately, you can let your warm skin naturally melt the grains, and then rub in the balm after it begins to melt.

Our formulation does contain a very small amount of baking soda, so for those sensitive to that ingredient we recommend trying a deodorant sample. In five years, only one person reported trouble with a baking soda sensitivity to our deodorant.
