HTMA Profile 2 Multi-Element Assay (Initial)

PLEASE NOTE: If you previously ordered a test with another Practitioner, and you still want to keep the same lab number and previous result comparisons, you must complete and submit the Patient Health Information Release when you mail in your hair sample.

A Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) uncovers the body's mineral levels, ratios, and imbalances with a hair sample.  Hair is viable choice to measure the body's minerals because of the way it forms and grows. The particular cells that a hair follicle consists of arrange into clusters to produce hair. Exposure to the internal environment of the body as the hair grows causes it to interact with blood, lymph, and extra-cellular fluids. Once the hair reaches the surface of the skin, the hard out layers lock in the metabolic products they came in contact with while growing. This process provides us with a blueprint and report of the mineral status in the body, as well as the nutritional metabolic activity that took place during hair formation.

The analytical method conducted with a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis is specific and advanced procedure that reveals the mineral deficiencies, excesses, and imbalances in the body. This is critical information considering minerals are necessary for life. Minerals are essential components of cellular metabolism, DNA function, immune function, nerve condition, anti-oxidant and endocrine activity, structural support, enzyme function, muscular activity, and water and acid/alkaline balance.

Please note that these laboratory test results and the comprehensive report are not considered diagnostic. The analysis is only provided as an additional source of information to the attending doctor.

Many causes contribute to the presence of toxic metals and imbalance minerals on a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis. These include diet, environmental factors, and stress, to name a few. The analytical procedure allows us to establish the necessary diet, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations to help re-balance the body.

Defining a Profile 2

The Profile 2 Hair Analysis is for first-time customers who have yet to start a Body Mineral Balancing program, or returning customers who did not purchase a retest in a timely manner (we strongly recommend retests every three months). The purchase of a Profile 2 includes downloadable files in the Invoice email. These files consist of the order form to send in to the lab, as well as a scale to weigh your sample of hair.

The elements that are tested in a Profile 2 are Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Copper, Zinc, Phosphorus, Iron, Manganese, Chromium, Selenium, Boron, Cobalt, Germanium, Molybdenum, Sulfur, Uranium, Arsenic, Beryllium, Mercury, Cadmium, Lead, Aluminum, Barium, Bismuth, Rubidium, Lithium, Nickel, Platinum, Thallium, Vanadium, Strontium, Tin, Titanium, Tungsten and Zirconium.

The Profile 2 Hair Analysis includes a full interpretation report, consisting of:

  • Mineral levels and ratios depicted in a graphic illustration
  • Personalized evaluation and conversation about metabolic type, mineral levels, mineral ratios, and how it all affects the body
  • Food recommendations, along with a reason why each is suggested
  • Supplement recommendations based upon age, metabolic type, mineral patterns, sex, and any other particular needs

Please note the results of this test will be delivered by email only.

Your hair sample should be mailed to Trace Elements, Inc. at the following address:
