TEI HTMA Canine Profile 10 Multi-Element Assay (Initial and Retest)

Regretfully, we have been forced to temporarily suspend all business transactions with our United Kingdom and European Union based clientele. This decision is directly related to recently imposed VAT (Value Added Tax) rules for companies selling and shipping to the United Kingdom & European Union countries. HOWEVER, you can still receive all our products using a freight forwarding company, like MyUS.com (and others). They have the required registrations and will collect the applicable import duties and taxes from you for your purchase.  Please be advised that freight forwarding companies require customer VAT registration numbers before accepting a parcel destined for the United Kingdom and European Union-based countries.

Dogs can gain tremendous health benefits from a Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA). The same procedure the is used for human hair analysis applies to pets, which is the use of a hair sample to observe mineral imbalances, levels, and ratios in the body. The growth process of hair makes it a reliable source to determine this kind of information. As hair grows in the body, it interacts with the body's internal environment and is exposed to blood, extra-cellular fluids, and lymph. The hair's outer layers harden as soon as it gets to the skin's surfaces, and therefore locks in the metabolic products that it came in contact with while it grew. This development enables us to discover the body's recent metabolic activity and mineral status of the body.

The analysis of a hair sample is a specific technique that provides essential information regarding the body's minerals. Minerals are crucial for many body functions, such as immune function, structural support, cellular metabolism, nerve condition, DNA function, muscular activity, enzyme function, anti-oxidant and endocrine activity, and water and acid/alkaline balance.

Please note that these laboratory test results and the comprehensive report are not considered diagnostic. The analysis is only provided as an additional source of information to the attending doctor.

There are many factors, including diet, stress, and the environmental, that cause toxic metal accumulation and imbalanced mineral levels. Hair analysis provides the tools to develop appropriate diet, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations to help the body reach optimal health.

The HTMA Canine Profile 10 Multi-Element Assay Includes:

  • Mineral ratios and levels depicted as a graphic illustration
  • Personalized supplement recommendations based upon results of hair mineral analysis

Where to sample hair on dog

How to take a pet hair sample

It is essential to have a proper hair sample from your dog in order to for the interpretation and recommendations to be accurate. Take a look at the following guidelines to cut the hair sample:

  • The sample should be cut in small portions from behind your dog's head. Cut as close as you can to the skin.
  • Plated scissors can contribute to metallic element contamination. Make sure to use high grade stainless steel or plastic scissors to ensure accurate results.
  • The sample should not be any longer than 1.5 inches. The proximal (closest to skin) part of the hair should be used for the sample, since the closer the hair is to the skin, the more accurately it reflects the body's metabolic activity.  Discard the rest of the cut hair.
  • Weigh 125 mg of hair (one full tablespoon) for an proper sample.

Mail the hair sample for testing to the Trace Elements, Inc.'s address below:
