Trimethylglycine

Most people can hugely benefit from Trimethylglycine (TMG), which is a vitamin-like substance that Dr. Wilson adds to nearly all Nutritional Balancing programs. It has many functions including working as an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, energy booster, and methyl donor.

TMG contains CH3, three methyl groups, which it donates to the body. These methyl groups are necessary for countless of our bodies' biochemical reactions. Some of the provided functions include:

  • Lowering homocysteine which is an amino acid that can correlate with heart disease
  • Helping to detoxify the liver
  • Increasing body’s production of S-adenosyl methionine which can help alleviate depression
  • Assisting with protein synthesis

Dietary sources such as broccoli, beets, and other vegetables (of which most people do not get enough) can supply TMG. And although a healthy body can also produce and provide TMG, many people’s bodies do not make enough of it due to toxic metals present.

Some of the interferences with TMG production in the body include:

  • Presence of mercury. This is a significant poison that can interfere with TMG production and/or increase the body’s need for more. Mercury causes can be made worse by the consumption of seafood and presence of silver/mercury dental amalgams.
  • Copper toxicity. This can be caused by deficiencies in zinc, which is due to the lack of it in soil and food.

Other factors such as stress, infections and inflammation may use up what TMG the body does supply, therefore more is necessary.

Due to the body’s low production of TMG and inadequate amounts from our dietary intake, supplementation of TMG can be very helpful. Sometimes people need even more than the recommended amount while going through healing reactions.  The purchase of a Hair Analysis Kit to guide your own Nutritional Balancing program can help determine what dose is right for you.

TMG capsules include 500 mg of TMG which is derived from natural betain sources. They have gelatin and may also contain one or more of microcrystalline cellulose (plant fiber), silica, or magnesium stearate.
