Chromium Picolinate with Hair Analysis

Chromium is an essential trace element which, unfortunately, is found in low levels these days. Some of the best food sources of chromium include egg yolk, peanuts, grape juice, American cheese, black pepper, and molasses. However, due to food hybridization and current industrial agricultural methods, not enough of the trace minerals are restored in the soil. This has led to widespread chromium deficiency that only gets worse as we age. Adequate amounts of chromium is needed to help maintain an optimal state of the blood’s PH level and the tissues.

The lack of chromium found in many of today’s food is why it is such a commonly recommended supplement on a Dr. Wilson Nutritional Balancing program. Chromium has a major functioning role in glucose tolerance and metabolism, which is required for blood sugar levels and energy levels, as well as cholesterol regulation. Progressive Labs' Chromium is a powerful supplement that can help the body absorb some of this necessary element.

Chromium supplementation is good for:

  • Glucose intolerance
  • Diabetes
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Fatigue
  • Elevated cholesterol
  • Mitochondrial imbalances
  • Raising sodium level

When a person is deficient in chromium, they can experience symptoms such as atherosclerosis, fatigue, diabetes, depressed growth, elevated serum cholesterol, and hypoglycemia. However, some forms of chromium can actually be toxic and result in the opposite of excess chromium in the body. This usually comes from occupational exposure and not from food. Symptoms of chromium excess can include asthma, allergies, calcium deficiency, iron deficiency, kidney damage, sinusitis, ulcers, nausea, vomiting.

High levels of chromium found on a hair test are usually biounavailable, while low levels are often due to deficient modern diets. It is best to use a hair analysis kit to determine your individual body’s needs to supplement your body appropriately.

Progressive Labs’ chromium supplement contains 200 mcg of chromium as picolinate. It also consists of rice flour, hypromellose, vegetable lubricant. It does not contain casein, corn, dairy, egg, gluten, GMO, lactose, soy, wheat, whey, yeast.
